We love working with Ryan Hartman and the crew at Field Scout. Last week we did some hustlin’ at Blast Digital Studio and shot the photos for Field Scout’s Spring/Summer 2013 look book. Here are some behind the scenes photos, including a spirited group photo with awkward hovering hands.
Check out this behind-the-scenes cuteness! We just put together a fun little video that shows our Cao Studio crew having fun on the set of the Alien Family project. Gasp as you view the glory of all the adorable handmade paper aliens, laugh as you watch confetti fly through the air, and clap your hands like a happy circus seal as you imagine yourself dancing with cloth tentacle arms.
A big thanks goes to Blast Digital Studio, the folks at Duncan/Channon, the video game masters at GREE, and the cast of characters at Cao Studio that work so hard to make our job so fun and rewarding.
Oh, and what’s with the “Form & Fiction” credit at the end of the video? Stay tuned!
Our hearts are swelling with pride, because Howard was chosen to be included in the 2012 PDN Photo Annual!
Thanks to PDN, Howard is finally ready to reveal this personal project, “All Look Same,” which explores the influences of celebrity and cultural identity.
Howard took a fun little business trip to Las Vegas to photograph a group of celebrity impersonators, and then collaborated with the magicians at Sugar Digital to create their Asian doppelgangers.

Is Howard actually shooting tech photos for a job using natural light? Alert the press! This is the dawn of a new era.
Remember that book of Jell-o recipes that Angie photographed? Apparently the book’s author, Victoria Belanger, is doing double duty both as the Jell-o Mold Mistress of Brooklyn and as the official photographer for her pet hamster Zooey. We like to think that this photo is merely a snapshot documenting a common event in Zooey’s everyday life.
Little furry animals! Jell-O! Angie’s photos! We don’t know how we’re supposed to get any work done when things like this exist in the world.
Do you belong to Team Donut or Team Donut Hole? This was the question hanging over our heads during Angie’s donut shoot.
She teamed up with food stylist Alexa Hyman, who filled the studio with the smell of fried dough, and we made some pretty photos in the process. The beauty of the donuts was so overwhelming that it brought a tear to Angie’s eye.
Mr. Postman delivered a fancy new toy to our doorstep yesterday, along with a bulk order of diapers and a fresh supply of Blue Bottle coffee. While we’re a big fan of caffeine and preventing carpet poops, this RED Scarlet has topped our list of favorite things in the world.

Wondering why Howard has been so quiet lately? Several NDA projects had forced him to set up camp in a secret cave of video editing, visual effects and post production. After months of agonizing anticipation, one of these projects has officially been released to the public.
